Both are accepted by Home Affairs for the student visa. PTE is computer-scored including speaking, results usually in 2 to 5 days. IELTS speaking is face to face with an examiner.
If you get nervous with people, PTE may be easier. If your pronunciation and fluency are not smooth with a microphone, IELTS speaking can actually be kinder because the examiner understands accent.
Check your university's own score requirement too, some nursing and teaching courses need much higher scores than the visa minimum.

Nursing ko lagi AHPRA/university requirement herna nabirsinu. Higher score chahincha.

PTE "read aloud" and "repeat sentence" are very trainable with templates. Most of my students jump 8 to 10 points in a month. IELTS writing takes longer to improve.
