Yes. From 1 September 2026, a single student (outside Quebec) must show CAD 23,448 for living costs, up from CAD 22,895. This is on top of first-year tuition and travel.
Family totals: 2 people CAD 29,192, 3 people CAD 35,888, 4 people CAD 43,572, each extra member CAD 6,318.

GIC is still the cleanest way to show living costs. Nepal ko bank statement matra le lots of refusals bhayeko dekhiyo.

Also remember most study permit applicants now need a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the province, and SDS fast track ended in November 2024. So processing is the normal stream for Nepal now.
