Driving license renew 2026: online milcha? Fee ra late fine kati?
**Online:** in July 2026 DoTM launched a fully online system, so you can apply, renew and pay fees online. Details can be auto-filled using the QR code on your National ID card or through the Nagarik App. Each province has its own portal. The **medical check is still done in person** at the transport office. Smart licences are meant to be printed within 24 hours of the details being received.
**Fees** (as reported in 2025, check the current rate before paying): bike/scooter Rs 1,500, small vehicles Rs 2,000, medium Rs 2,500, large Rs 3,000.
**Late fine:** you can renew without a fine within 90 days of expiry. After that it is 100% of the fee after 1 year, 200% after 2 years, and so on. A 2025 bill proposed lowering these fines and moving to 10-year validity, so confirm what is in force now.

Do it inside the 90 days. After that the fine doubles the cost.
