Floods in Bhotekoshi on 26 August damaged the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir. Kathmandu Post (6 Sept) reported about 150 Pokhara–Kathmandu tourist buses idle, a diversion track being built, and flights packed: 50 flights in one day (Buddha Air 28, Yeti 18, Shree 4) carrying 3,500+ passengers.

Large vehicles can't use the Tribhuvan highway (Hetauda–Naubise) section, so buses can't simply go around that way.
