Langtang trek back on after the Betrawati Bailey bridge reopened?

Nepal News says Langtang arrivals are picking up again now that a temporary Bailey bridge over the Phalakhola at Betrawati has reopened the road. Officials say the lodges are ready for the October-November peak season.

The route they describe starts from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and takes two days via Bharkhu, Brabal, Bamboo, Rimche and Lama Hotel.

Is anyone thinking of going during the Tihar holidays? Also, the cyclone rain and snow is forecast through Saturday, so is it better to wait a few days?

Wait until at least Sunday. DHM forecast heavy rain and snow with possible landslides and snowstorms in the Himalayas through Saturday, and said the effect should weaken from Saturday afternoon. The Rasuwa road has landslide-prone sections, so give it a day to clear.

Also check the Langtang National Park entry fee and the TIMS rules before you leave.

Good to hear the bridge is open. Lama Hotel to Langtang village is the steep part, so don't rush the second day.
