NRB circular reported in April 2026 raised the foreign currency limits for the ICT sector: - IT prepaid card for software/cloud subscriptions: up to USD 3,000 a year (was USD 500 on normal dollar cards) - Exporting IT entities: USD 5,000 - Individual freelancers with foreign income: up to USD 25,000 - Bigger IT companies: up to USD 100,000
CAN Federation advises getting a PAN for anything above USD 5,000.

Receiving income is different from spending. Payoneer to Nepali bank (USD account) works fine for most of us, just make sure the inward remittance is tagged as service export, not "family remittance", so your income record is clean.
