Janakpur to Ayodhya train launching in November? Who can ride it?

Nepal News reports that preparations for a cross-border train between Janakpurdham and Ayodhya are in the final stage. A joint inauguration by both prime ministers is planned during the state visit that starts on 22 November, and stakeholders have inspected the Jainagar-Janakpurdham-Kurtha rail corridor.

Has anyone seen the fare, the timetable, or which ID Nepali passengers will need? It would be great for Bibaha Panchami pilgrims if it really starts.

No fare or timetable has been published yet as far as I can see. Keep an eye on official Nepal Railways and Indian Railways notices closer to 22 November.

On the current Jainagar-Janakpur-Kurtha service, Nepali and Indian citizens travel with citizenship or passport-type ID. Wait for the official rule for this train before planning, though.

If it runs on time it would really help Janakpur tourism. Ram Janaki temple and Ayodhya in one trip.
