Department of Hydrology and Meteorology warning (26 Oct): cyclonic storm "Arnav" forming over the Bay of Bengal can bring rain from Thursday 29 Oct, with intense rain and thunderstorms on 30 and 31 Oct in five provinces. Heavy snow, snowstorm and avalanche risk in the mountains.
Earlier forecast (25 Oct) said 3 to 4 days of heavy rain through 1 November, over 150 mm in parts of Bagmati, and high risk in 29 districts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini. Manang has extra avalanche risk.

If you have trekkers out on Annapurna or Manaslu this week, tell them to stay low on 30-31 Oct. Thorong La and Larkya La will be risky with fresh snow.
