E-waste problem in Nepal

Electronic waste (e-waste) is a growing problem in Nepal, as in many other countries. E-waste includes discarded electronic devices such as computers, smartphones, televisions, and other household appliances.

One of the main challenges of e-waste in Nepal is the lack of proper disposal and recycling facilities. Many e-waste items are discarded in landfills or burned, which can release harmful chemicals into the environment.

Another challenge is the lack of awareness about the environmental and health impacts of e-waste. Many people in Nepal are not aware of the potential hazards of e-waste and do not understand the importance of proper disposal and recycling.

Efforts are being made to address the e-waste problem in Nepal, including the establishment of e-waste recycling facilities and the implementation of laws and regulations to promote the responsible disposal of e-waste. However, more needs to be done to address this growing problem in Nepal.
