Common breakfast in Nepal?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It breaks the overnight fasting and boost your energy levels. In past Nepalese did not use to take breakfast.Instead of that they use to take lunch early in morning at about 8-9:00 am. Nowadays, tradition have changed with the knowledge of important of breakfast for good health.

Typical breakfast available in nepal are as follows:

  • Chickpea (Chana) and Egg

  • Egg bread

  • Biscuits with Milk for children, not sure how healthy is biscuit in the morning

  • Popcorn

  • Pancake

Common Breakfast most of those depends upon the Religious and Economical factor in Nepal. Most of the Typical Breakfast mentioned above those is from Cities area and on Hospilities as on common family and villages if their child is the school most of them skip breakfast cover-up by tea and Early lunch become their starting food if that’s the day.
As my experience as Nepali Traditional and typical Break Fast as follows:

  • Roti Tarkari milk (Chapati, Vegetable and Milk/Tea)

  • Bhutako Bhat(Fried Rice from Yesterday rice)

  • Makkai Bhatta (Dry Fried Corn and Soybean)

  • Uwa ko Puwa

also on society in Magar/Gurung somewhere they start their days by Jaad & Makai (Raw of Alcohol liquid and Corn) beside Milk.
